Join the Thai LEED community on July 6, 2023, in Bangkok for an exciting event hosted by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Green Building Certification Inc. (GBCI) – “LEED in Southeast Asia Series – In Dialogue with USGBC & GBCI”. This event will celebrate our stakeholders who have championed the adoption and implementation of LEED.
A panel of Thai experts will provide insights into the country's building sector and the future of LEED in Thailand. The event aims to unite USGBC members, credential holders, and LEED users from diverse industries including manufacturing, corporate, healthcare, hospitality, and retail.
"Southeast Asia represents a burgeoning market for LEED and green buildings. We're thrilled to gather the green building community in Thailand and highlight organisations that are paving the way in sustainability and generating healthier and more sustainable spaces in their communities," said Mr. Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan, Managing Director, Southeast Asia & Middle East, GBCI India.
The agenda will feature panel discussions with Thai built environment experts, offering their perspective on the use of LEED and the advancement of the green building sector in the country.
Southeast Asia has witnessed impressive growth in the adoption of LEED and green buildings, with Thailand leading the charge as one of the first Southeast Asian countries to embrace the creation of sustainable built environments through LEED. With nearly 500 LEED-participating projects, and more than 24 projects obtaining LEED certification in 2022 alone, Thailand’s commitment to sustainability is clear.
LEED – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – serves as a global solution for cities, communities, and neighbourhoods. Through sustainable design, construction, and operations, LEED can enable both new and existing buildings to minimise carbon emissions, waste, and energy consumption, conserve water, prioritise safer materials, and reduce exposure to toxins.
