Adrien Rabiot may have just dropped Liverpool transfer hint

Adrien Rabiot has admitted he 'followed' Liverpool because he was a 'fan' of Steven Gerrard.

The Juventus midfielder is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a move to Anfield. Liverpool are expected to overhaul their midfield when the transfer window reopens.

Rabiot reportedly came close to a move to Manchester United last summer and speculation surrounding his future will be rife once again in the coming months.

The 27-year-old was a key member of the France side that were beaten on penalties by Argentina in the World Cup final in December and is unlikely to be short of suitors.

But perhaps he has just suggested his next club if he chooses to leave Juventus. In an exclusive interview with tuttosport.com, Rabiot said: “I liked Liverpool so much because I was a fan of Steven Gerrard who made me dream and therefore I followed the Reds."

On his Juventus contract situation, Rabiot added: "At the moment, there's no news, but we'll certainly talk soon.

"Because in about two months the season will be over and we'll try to discuss it, but I'm calm. There is the possibility of leaving but also the possibility of signing another contract with Juve."
