Adolescence: Who is in the new Netflix series?

Netflix show Adolescence dropped on March 13 and has already been dubbed some of the best TV of the year.

The four-part series, created by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne, is about a teenager, Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), accused of stabbing his classmate, Katie, to death.

Adolescence features a number of British TV stars, including actors from Top Boy, The Crown and Waterloo Road.

Who is in the star-studded cast?

Jamie’s father: Eddie Miller

Stephen Graham, who co-created the series, plays Eddie Miller, Jamie’s father.

Graham’s acting career reaches back to the ’90s, when he was crime movies Snatch and Gangs of New York. He has also been in This Is England, Line of Duty and Boiling Point.

Accused teenage murderer Jamie Miller: Owen Cooper

The accused teenager, Jamie Miller, is played by rising star Owen Cooper. It is the 15-year-old student’s on-screen debut.

However, stardom beckons as Cooper is also playing young Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

Detective inspector Luke Bascombe: Ashley Walters

The detective inspector is played by Ashley Walters, who played a drug dealer in Top Boy.

Walters is also a rapper, known for his role in UK garage group So Solid Crew, which split in the early 2000s. He has since released a studio album.

Clinical psychologist Briony Ariston: Erin Doherty

Erin Doherty (best known for her performance of Princess Anne in The Crown) plays the clinical psychologist assigned to Jamie’s case. Doherty also played Becky in the TV thriller Chloe and Clare in Reawakening.

Sergeant Frank: Faye Marsay

Faye Farsay stars as Detective Sergeant Frank, following performances in The White Queen and Fresh Meat. She also appeared in the fifth and sixth seasons of Game of Thrones and a 2016 episode of Black Mirror.

Mrs Fenumore: Jo Hartley

Jo Hartley plays Mrs Fenumore, a teacher at Jamie’s school. She’s appeared in This Is England, The Young Victoria, Torvill & Dean, Sweetheart and more.

Paulie Hunter: Mark Stanley

Mark Stanley plays Paulie Hunter, Jamie’s lawyer. He’s played roles in Game of Thrones, The Bay, The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe, Triggerpoint, and he is also in the new series A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, on ITV. Stanley has also appeared in films like Mr Turner and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Jamie’s sister Lisa Miller: Amélie Pease

Amélie Pease makes her on on-screen debut as Lisa Miller, Jamie’s sister.

Jamie’s mum Mandy Millar: Christine Tremarco

Christine Tremarco is a familiar face on British TV (PA)

Christine Tremarco plays Mandy Millar, following extensive appearances on British TV shows including Waterloo Road, Casualty and The Leaving of Liverpool.
