After recording a good weekend at the box office, the Om Raut directorial 'Adipurush' saw a big drop in numbers on its first Monday.
According to reports on boxofficeindia.com, the film starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, saw a big drop of around 78% as it began its regular week. The inability of the film to climb Sunday set it up for a big drop on Monday.
While the mythological film saw a big 78% drop, it is not unusual as Brahmastra also witnessed a similar 65% drop. The movie earned an estimated Rs 7.75 crore nett on Monday, after earning a consistent collection of Rs 35 crore through the three-day weekend. The total of the Hindi version of the film now stands at an estimated Rs 112.75 crore.
With several political groups calling for a ban on the film, reports state that the controversy surrounding the film may have played a big part in affecting the numbers.
Besides seeing a drop in the Hindi belts, there was also a big drop in the Telugu belt.
