Nepotism is popular in just about every industry and football coaching is no different. Sometimes getting a job in the NFL comes down to who you know far more than what you actually know about the game. There are exceptions to the rule, though. It appears that new Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald might be one of them.
Apparently Macdonald had no previous relationship with former Cowboys defensive line coach Aden Durde. Even though they had never met, Durde reportedly knocked the interview out of the park and got himself hired as defensive coordinator. Here’s what Durde told Seattle media about Macdonald and his defensive philosophy when he spoke with them on Thursday.
