Adele said she has felt ‘humanised’ by making friends such as Nicole Ritchie and Jennifer Lawrence in California.

In a new cover story for Rolling Stone, the native Londoner spoke about life after she bought a home in Beverly Hills in 2016 during the North American stretch of her tour.

Her ex-husband, Simon Konecki, who is still one of her “best friends,” lives across the street.

“We do normal, normal things on the weekends,” Adele says of their life. “I’ll take him to the parties, all of that. We’ll do school drop-off,” Adele said.

When their son Angelo began school, she said she started to befriend other moms and fellow celebrities in the neighbourhood. This included Ritchie and Lawrence.

“They humanised me because I had avoided talking to anyone that was ever famous in any capacity, because I was like, ‘Well, I’m not famous.’ I’m very British like that,” she said.

Adele also added that the conversations she had with Lawrence and Ritchie never touched on “work” which was refreshing.

“We never spoke about work, which was amazing, because most of the time when I catch up with someone, they want to know all about my work, and I’m like, ‘I don’t want to talk about that. Can we talk about something else? I’m knackered.’”

According to Brittany Spanos of Rolling Stone, Adele’s new life in California inspired a few songs on her upcoming album 30.

Some of them specifically surround her dating life after her split from Konecki in 2019.

“I lasted five seconds [dating here],” she said.

Yet, she is “lucky” that no one she’s dated “sold a story on her.”

“You can’t set me up on a f****** blind date! I’m like, ‘How’s that going to work?’ There’ll be paparazzi outside, and someone will call [gossip site] Deuxmoi, or whatever it’s f****** called! It ain’t happening.”

Songs such as “All Night Parking” and “Woman Like Me” were inspired by the first relationship after her divorce.

But it was long distance and eventually ended.

Some fans were curious to know if any songs on 30 were about the British grime artist Skepta.

But she completed the album before rumours of their romance came to the forefront.

Adele and Skepta reportedly began their courtship in late 2020.

As of now, Adele is currently dating sports agent Rich Paul. They met at a mutual friend’s birthday some years back, then reconnected not too long after her father passed away from cancer in May.

She describes the relationship with Paul as the most “incredible, openhearted, and easiest” one she’s been in.

30, Adele’s fourth album is slated to be released on November 19.
