Adele Roberts is starring in the Stand Up To Cancer version of Bake Off.
The radio DJ was receiving cancer treatment while filming the programme and has said that the show helped her feel alive again.
The star was diagnosed with bowel cancer and has since been given the all clear.
She has documented her journey since receiving her diagnoses and is now campaigning for awareness of the type of cancer.
Adele was undergoing chemotherapy treatment while she was filming the show as she went head to head with other well known celebs to be crowned the winner of the series.
Here we take a look back at Adele's brave cancer journey.
Diagnosis and remission
Adele was first diagnosed with bowel cancer back in 2021 and revealed she had the illness in October.
The 43-year-old has kept her fans up to date with how she has been doing since.
It was then June 2022 when Adele told her followers that she was cancer free.
Taking to her Instagram page, she said that the good news had taken her breath away.
She wrote alongside two photos: "The day I've been waiting for. Hearing the words 'you're free of cancer' absolutely took my breath away. I keep replaying it in my mind."
"It was the most beautiful sound I think I've ever heard. Even though I was praying Dr Khan would say that to me I don't think my head let me believe it until I heard it," she added.
Adele said: "Everything we've been through seems to be swirling around in my body and life feels a bit surreal at the moment … but I am so grateful. I am counting my blessings.
"I'm also in awe of anyone dealing with cancer. The courage, the strength, the determination and at times, the humour you have shown has been nothing short of super human."
Adele went on to thank her family, friends and supporters and mentioned that people had sent love and positive thoughts, adding: "You've kept me going and helped me slay this beast."
She specifically mentioned her partner Kate Holderness, 38, saying: "The reason I had the strength to get out of bed every morning. I will never leave you and I will always find you. In this life and the next."
Treatment
Adele underwent chemotherapy as part of her cancer treatment.
She has also been open about having a stoma.
A stoma is an opening on the front of your abdomen which allows waste to be removed from the body and into a bag.
The star talked about having her rectum removed and that she won't be getting rid of her stoma, which she has named Audrey, any time soon.
Adele said: "It’s a long story but essentially it’s not possible to give me a reversal of my stoma anytime soon. He also casually mentioned that I’ve had my rectum removed. I might not be able to go to the toilet normally again ever… WTAF?!"
Bake Off and raising awareness
Adele has gone back to work and is appearing in the Stand Up To Cancer version of Bake Off.
She went up against fellow contestants, Olympic swimmer Tom Daley , actor David Morrissey and actress Lucy Beaumont.
As well as appearing on the show, Adele is raising awareness in other ways too.
The presenter is backing a campaign to raise awareness about the symptoms of the bowel cancer.
Bowel Cancer UK has found that 38% of people cannot name any symptoms of bowel cancer.
As part of the charity's new campaign for Bowel Cancer Awareness Month this April, they are trying to flag symptoms which include blood in your poo, change of bowel habits, pain or lump in your tummy, weight loss and fatigue.
