Adele reveals she collapsed backstage before Vegas show due to debilitating nerve condition

Adele has revealed how she collapsed moments before going on stage due to a debilitating nerve issue.

The Hello hitmaker told fans during a recent gig at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas that, before starting her show, she had fallen and was unable to move due to a sciatica attack.

According to the NHS, sciatica is pain caused by an irritated nerve. It usually affects one side, running from your lower back down to one leg.

It may feel like a stabbing, burning, or shooting pain. Others have also reported a tingling, or numbness and weakness in the area.

Discussing her health scare, she told her Weekends with Adele audience, in quotes obtained by The Sun: “They picked my whole body up off the floor.”

The British singer also revealed that she had to take a break mid-show due to the flare-up, adding: “I am going to sit down and rest my sciatica.”

It’s not the first time the Grammy-winner has openly discussed the condition with her fans, previously telling fans in February that she was performing with a disintegrated disc in her spine.

She also revealed in December that “really bad sciatica” left her “waddling” on stage during her Las Vegas residency.

At her New Year’s Eve show, the Rolling in the Deep songstress was reportedly handing out T-shirts to fans when she complained about her chronic back pain, which made it difficult to run from one side of the venue to the other.

In quotes obtained by Daily Star, she said: “I’ve got two more, I’ve just got to get over to the other side of the stage. I have to waddle these days as I have really bad sciatica.”

Last year, Adele revealed how the health issue has impacted her life and explained that it can flare up due to “stress”.

“I’ve been in pain with my back for, like, half of my life, really,” she told The Face. “It flares up, normally due to stress or from a stupid bit of posture.”

She also explained that she first slipped a disc when she was just 15 then in January 2022, she slipped another.

The performer recalled: “I was in bed and I sneezed and my fifth one flew out.”

“And then where I had a C-section, my core was useless,” Adele told the outlet, as she discussed her newfound motivation for working out and the benefits she’s seen since focusing on her health.
