Two firefighters are recovering after being injured fighting a blaze in the Adelaide Hills in extreme conditions on Saturday.
About 60 fire trucks and eight aircraft responded to a fire burning in scrubland within the Black Hill Conservation Park at Montacute, just east of the Adelaide suburb of Athelstone, that started about 11am on Saturday.
It was contained on Saturday evening.
No properties were damaged by the fire, but about 45 hectares of bush was burnt.
The Country Fire Service (CFS) said two firefighters sustained minor injuries but both were "recovering well".
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There will be an increase in smoke within the area as crews undertake burning operations along Gorge Road on Sunday.
The CFS said they would remain on the scene for the next few days to monitor and extinguish any hotspots.
The service said while the threat is reduced, residents should remain vigilant and the community should take care in the area.
Gorge Road remains closed to the public between the intersections of Kirkevue and Corkscrew roads.
The CFS also battled a blaze that began at Hawthorndene, near the Belair National Park in the Mount Lofty Ranges, on Saturday night.
A watch and act message had been issued, but was later downgraded after the threat was reduced.
The temperature in Adelaide peaked at 39 degrees Celsius on Saturday, before a change came in around 4pm.
