Addison Rae jokes it’s ‘time to get a job’ after being ‘banned’ from TikTok

Addison Rae has claimed she is “permanently banned” from TikTok but appears to have taken the news on the chin by joking that it’s time for her to “get a job.”

The He’s All That star shared a screenshot of the notification from TikTok notifying her about the ban which explained the ban was due to “multiple violations” of their Community Guidelines.

It remains unclear what exact guidelines Addison has broken and if she is banned from posting new videos, but her TikTok account is still currently viewable.

In a tweet to her 4.8m followers, she jested: “Well time to get a job.”

Over 45,000 have liked the tweet and people shared their reaction to the news of one TikTok’s biggest creators getting ban from the platform.

Meanwhile, as Addison is looking for a new job others were more than happy to suggest where is hiring – McDonald’s appeared to be a popular response.

The apparent ban appears to be recent since Addison’s last upload on her account was a day ago which was an advertisement for Nintendo Switch.

With 85m followers, Addison is one of the most followed creators on the platform so if the ban is permanent it will come as a big blow for the social media personality, who is estimated to earn $5 million in 2019, according to Forbes.

The TikTok star has already branched outside her TikTok beginnings with the release of her song Obsessed and starring in the Netflix film He’s All That (a remake of the 90s classic She’s All That) which has led to her landing a deal with the streaming service.

“TikTok is what got me to where I am,” Addison told Forbes last year.

In an earlier interview with Forbes, she explained how she grew her TikTok platform.

“I attribute all my social media growth across all platforms to one thing: Consistency. I am always really active. Daily, I post three to five pieces of content on each platform. People notice how often I post, how much I interact with them, and people really like that.”
