The Cleveland Browns were right in the middle of the rumor circle surrounding San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. There were even reports that the Browns had an agreement in place for the All-Pro wide receiver, but Aiyuk himself nixed the move because he did not want to come to Cleveland.
And now ESPN’s Adam Schefter reiterated and validated the claims that the Browns and Niners were deep in talks to send the All-Pro wide receiver to Northeast Ohio. Schefter, appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, had this to say on what he thought was a done deal between the Niners and the Browns:
“On Thursday, August 1st I thought a trade to Cleveland was happening, it was imminent…and then it didn’t get done.”
"The hold up with Cleveland all along has been Brandon Aiyuk's willingness to accept a trade to the Browns..
The contract would've been done there if he wanted to go..
The compensation would've been done there if he wanted to go" ~ @AdamSchefter #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/MGpYYIvfes

Aiyuk is still not attending practices with the Niners as he waits on a new deal, and they seem to be growing tired of dealing with this saga. As Aiyuk continues to wait for a new deal, could he change his mind about coming to Cleveland if this situation continues to draw out?
