Adam Schefter’s Hilarious Ringtone Interrupted ESPN Show, Made Peers Laugh Hysterically

Adam Schefter’s phone is always ringing. As the NFL’s top news breaker, he’s always at work getting or providing the latest scoops and intel about every team, even when he’s on set for a live show.

On Saturday, viewers watching ESPN’s NFL Live: Back Together Weekend could not have witnessed a clearer view into Schefter’s life when his phone started ringing in the middle of the network’s coverage of the first weekend of training camp.

As NFL analyst Tim Hasselback discussed Jordan Love’s first offseason as the starting quarterback for the Packers, Schefter’s phone sounded off with the ringtone of Anita Ward’s 1979 song “Ring My Bell” and ESPN’s Field Yates, Dan Orlovsky and Louis Riddick could not contain themselves from laughing.

While Hasselback finished his Packers’ segment, Schefter attempted to silence his phone multiple times but failed to do so. As his colleagues laughed hysterically, Schefter told the show producers to go to commercial.

“Go to break,” Schefter said. “It won’t stop. My phone is off and it won’t stop. What is going on here? I don’t have that ringtone.”

One can only hope that whoever was attempting to reach Schefter wanted him to know about some important NFL news. Or, perhaps it was a family member.

But, one thing is for certain: Schefter was in demand and someone planned to ring his line until he picked up.
