Adam Ramsay-Peaty’s “battle plan” failed to pay off as he was forced to settle for another bronze medal in the men’s 50 metres breaststroke final at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Ramsay-Peaty had vowed to rebound from his emotional third place in Saturday’s 100m final but was once again eclipsed by Australia’s Sam Williamson, with South Africa’s Michael Houlie taking silver.
The 31-year-old made a poor start and failed to make up enough ground in the last half of the contest, finishing in a time of 26.94 seconds, well off Williamson’s winning 26.50.
