Adam Levine sexting scandal - woman, 21, becomes the fifth woman embroiled in row

A 21-year-old college student has become the fifth woman to accuse Adam Levine of chatting her up on Instagram.

The Maroon 5 frontman, 43, was already clinging onto his marriage after model Summer Stroh claimed that she was having an affair with him for a year.

Levine denies cheating on his wife but admits that he "crossed the line".

Now, 21-year-old Ashley Russell has shared screenshots of messages from the star, who is expecting a baby with Victoria Secret's Behati Prinsloo.

The Alabama college student who runs a health and exercise Instagram account said that the singer started viewing her Stories in March this year.

He then started liking her posts before sending direct messages, commenting on photos of her working out.

Ashley told the Daily Mail how Levine would reply to photos of her working out, but would immediately delete his messages after she had read them.

She told the publication that the singer was messaging her daily, but only stopped once she warned him that he was going to get caught flirting with women online.

"[He would message] almost everyday at night around 10pm my time. I would check every time I posted a story, which was every day, and it was always viewed by him," she said.

"He would like mainly like booty stories and would always reply with something to do with leg or booty day at the gym."

"I think this is the true meaning of disrespect towards a woman. It makes me very sad that he is married and does this immature thing," she said.

As well as Summer, four other women have publicly come forward and said that the singer had been sending inappropriate messages.

Levine has strongly denied the claims that he flirted with women, but he did admit to being "inappropriate".

He released a statement on Instagram which read: "A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgement in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair; nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life.

"In certain instances it became inappropriate. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again."

In one of Summer's screenshots, Levine appears to tell her: "It is truly unreal how f****** hot you are. Like it blows my mind."

He also asked whether she would be ok with him calling his new baby Summer - telling her that he was "dead serious".

The couple have two daughters - Dusty Rose, 6 and Gio Grace, 4 and are expecting their third child.

Levine and his wife, 34, were seen smiling together as they took their daughter for a walk in Santa Barbara following the accusations.

On Tuesday, a comedian named Maryka and a woman called Alyson Rose also shared screenshots of the conversations they had been having with Levine.

After the Maroon 5 singer says that he is "obsessed" with Maryka, she replied: "Dude aren't you like married lol."

Levine admitted that he is but said that "it's a bit complicated".

The Mirror has contacted Adam Levine's representative for comment.
