Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson are in agreement that Real Madrid and Croatia star Luka Modric is the "best midfielder" they have ever played against.
The former Liverpool midfielder picked the Croatia captain in his World Cup team of the tournament after they beat Morocco to secure the bronze medal in Qatar.
Croatia were ultimately beaten by Argentina in the semi-final of the World Cup before Lionel Messi 's side went on to win their third crown.

Lallana, who now plays for Brighton and Hove Albion after leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2020, wrote about Modric in his column for The Times.
"There is no midfielder with a greater football IQ than Luka Modric," Lallana said. "I was speaking to Jordan Henderson and we both agreed that, pound for pound, he is the best midfielder we have ever played against.”
Meanwhile, Modric didn't show his classy side after his side beat Liverpool in the Champions League in May as he aimed a brutal dig at Mohamed Salah.
His Los Blancos team-mate Rodrygo told Cortes Podcast : “I have to tell a funny anecdote: when the Champions League final ended, we made a corridor for the Liverpool players.
“Salah passed by discouraged, and Modric, who was on the other side, greeted him and said: ‘All right, all right, next time you can try again’.”
Henderson and Salah will once again come up against Modric when Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League in February and March.
