Adam Dodd of FC United of Manchester: 'I was dying after heart attack in bed and my girlfriend saved my life'

The girlfriend of a footballer who had a heart attack in bed saved his life after waking up to hear him in cardiac arrest. Adam Dodd has now shared his story to raise awareness of how crucial CPR is.

Adam, 29, plays for FC United of Manchester and went to bed as normal on June 3. But, just a couple of hours later, his girlfriend woke up to hear him in distress, reports the M.E.N.

Adam, who plays semi-professionally and is also a plumber, said: "My heart had stopped and I was dying. Luckily, she heard my gasping and called 999 and performed CPR until the ambulance arrived 16 minutes later.
