Adam Collard was reportedly planning to buy a house with his ex-girlfriend just weeks before his return to reality TV.
The Love Island comeback king split with his most recent girlfriend two months before re-entering the iconic Spanish villa, after a two-year romance.
Despite the Geordie hunk, 26, claiming his last relationship was only "serious-ish", it has been claimed he and ex Josie Baxter were pretty significant and even been in the process of becoming homeowners together.
Sources have let slip that the former couple - who share two dogs together - were happy together before the idea of Adam returning to Love Island became a possibility.
While the reality TV star says he split from Josie two months ago, pals of the former couple have claimed Adam only dumped his ex at the start of June - leaving the fitness babe devastated.
"I only really got out of a relationship like two months ago, just over that, but I sat on it for a while. I seem to get a nosebleed at like 18 months," Adam confessed in the Villa earlier this week.
His comments rocked ex Josie, who was left gutted by his alleged re-writing of history.
"As far as Josie was concerned they were serious, they were looking to buy a house together," a source close to Josie has told The Sun.
"Everything unravelled pretty quickly after Adam first spoke to Love Island at the end of April.
"It’s very awkward as they obviously both work together and so everyone at the gym knows what has been going on. Newcastle is a small place and people talk."
A source close to Adam hit back saying: "Adam's only conversations about returning to Love Island were when he was single. Adam was very clear about that during conversations with the team on the show."
They went on to state it was disappointing that "unnamed people" made allegations when Adam has "no means of defending himself" while he is in the Villa.
While his exes may not be enjoying seeing him on screen, Love Island fans are more than happy to see Adam back on the ITV2 show.
The comeback star has cemented his status as a Love Island legend, with fans praising the personal trainer for taking this year's series to the next level.
The praise followed Jacques O'Neill 's departure from the Villa on Tuesday, just hours after Adam made a sensational comeback and set his sights on Paige Thorne.
"Noooo Adam Collard really did intimidate Jacques out the door. Legend status tbh #LoveIsland," one fan quipped on Twitter, with another agreeing as they wrote: "Adam isn’t even a love island legend he’s like love island mythology #LoveIsland."
"i have to tell my grandchildren about adam collard," another joked as the news of Jacques' departure broke.
