Actor Doug Sheehan, Known For Knots Landing, Passes Away At 75

Douglas (Doug) Sheehan, known for his roles in popular TV shows like 'Knots Landing' and 'General Hospital,' has sadly passed away at the age of 75. Sheehan, who portrayed Ben Gibson on 'Knots Landing,' died at his residence in Big Horn, Wyoming on June 29. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Born on April 27, 1949, in Santa Monica, California, Sheehan made his television debut with guest appearances on 'Charlie's Angels' and 'Kaz' in 1979. He gained recognition for his role as Joe Kelly on the daytime soap opera 'General Hospital' from 1979 to 1982.

Sheehan's acting career also included roles in theatrical productions like '10' (1979) and 'Victor/Victoria' (1982). He appeared in popular sitcoms such as 'Alice' and 'Cheers' before landing the role of Ben Gibson on 'Knots Landing,' where he played Valene's love interest.

After his stint on 'Knots Landing,' Sheehan starred in the NBC sitcom 'Day By Day' from 1988 to 1989. He later replaced Michael Lerner on the sitcom 'Clueless' from 1997 to 1999. Throughout his career, Sheehan also appeared in several TV films, including 'Crash: The Mystery of Flight 1501' and 'A Mom For Christmas' in 1990.

Sheehan's final acting credit was in an episode of the comedy series 'What I Like About You' in 2003. His contributions to the entertainment industry will be remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
