Action is being demanded to tackle school-run parents who are making life hell for residents living close to schools. Fuming residents with homes near schools in Birmingham say they have received threats and abuse after challenging parents for parking across their driveways as they wait to collect their kids.
BirminghamLive reports that locals claim they have had to put up with foul-mouthed rants from school-run parents not prepared to budge. The battle to find parking spots close to schools has sparked a number of road rage incidents as parents were confronted by irate locals trying to get off their driveways.
Now a city MP has called on the council to step up parking enforcement around schools and end the misery for fed-up neighbours. Preet Kaur Gill, the MP for Edgbaston, said parking was the biggest single issue constituents contacted her about and labelled the actions of some parents "wholly unacceptable".
