ACT reports 464 COVID-19 cases, one death

The ACT has recorded 464 COVID-19 cases and one death in the latest reporting period. (AAP)

A man in his 80s has died from COVID-19 in the ACT, as the national capital recorded 464 new cases.

The man is the 34th fatality in Canberra since the pandemic began.

Monday was the third consecutive day the ACT recorded fewer than 500 cases, following a spike in infections stemming from a cluster at residential halls at the Australian National University.

Of the new cases, 234 were from PCR tests and 230 came from rapid antigen tests.

The number of patients in hospital has risen slightly from 43 to 44 in the past reporting period.

However, none of those are in intensive care or on ventilation.
