ACT records 583 new COVID-19 infections

The national capital has had its highest daily number of new COVID-19 infections for almost a week. (AAP)

The ACT has recorded 583 new cases of COVID-19 in the latest reporting period, as hospitalisations from the virus rise.

It's the highest number of daily cases in the national capital for almost a week.

Of the new cases, 274 came from PCR tests, while 309 were from positive rapid antigen tests.

The number of COVID-19 patients in ACT hospitals has risen from 37 to 41.

There is one patient in intensive care.

COVID-19 vaccination figures have risen with 77.6 per cent of five to 11-year-olds having received their first dose, while 65.3 per cent of over-16s have received boosters.
