ACT Health issues warning after potent synthetic drug detected in street bought 'oxycodone' tablets

Tablets sold as "oxycodone" were found by ACT Health to contain a potent synthetic opioid, creating a risk of overdose.

Metonitazene was detected by the CanTEST Health and Drug Checking Service, which is a synthetic opioid of the nitazene class which can be as strong or stronger than the deadly fentanyl opioid.
