College football fans witnessed one of the wildest turnovers of the early 2023 college football season early Saturday.
With No. 1 Georgia up 14–0, Ball State was faced with a second-and-8 at their own 27-yard line.
Cardinals quarterback Kadin Semonza’s pass hit the right heel of freshman tight end Maximus Webster and ricocheted into the waiting arms of Bulldogs linebacker Chaz Chambliss.
Two plays later Georgia would take advantage of the fortunate bounce and raced to extend their early lead out to 21–0.
The top-ranked Bulldogs have dominated Ball State the first 30 minutes of action, forcing three first-half interceptions from Semonza en route to a 31–0 halftime lead.
New Georgia quarterback Carson Beck enjoyed a solid half, guiding Kirby Smart's offense while completing 16 of 22 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown.
