Accountancy firm Grant Thornton boosts graduate salary to £40,000

  • Grant Thornton has overhauled its early careers scheme to offer London graduates a starting salary of £40,000 alongside sign-on and post-qualification bonuses.
  • The firm will advertise trainee salaries in job listings for the first time when the new programme launches in September 2027.
  • The package surpasses graduate pay at Big Four accounting competitors KPMG, Deloitte, EY, and PwC, which pay up to £36,000.
  • Regional graduate and school leaver pay will also increase, with every trainee assigned a named partner sponsor from their first day.
  • Chief people officer Abigail Fisher stated the initiative represents a major investment to attract talent and provide a clear path to partnership.
