Not sure how to talk to the Crab in Abyss? As soon as you start your playthrough, you’ll meet Henry, the Harpoon merchant, along with several other starting NPCs. While his guns are useful, what really caught my attention is his little Crab friend. Henry says it can talk, but only if you find the ancient Crab Scroll hidden somewhere in the Abyss. In this guide, I’ll explain how to find it.
How to Find Crab Scroll Location in Abyss
The Ancient Crab Scroll is located in the Ancient Sands biome, the second zone in the Abyss. In order to reach it, you will first need to upgrade your gear, as you'll need to dive deep to reach the cave with the Crab Scroll. The cave is quite easy to find once you know where to look. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to find the Crab Scroll in Abyss:
- Use the Teleporter in the Bubble (the Forgotten Dome) to travel to the Ancient Sands. You should arrive at Crazy Jeff’s Shop.
- Exit the shop and, as soon as you pass through the protective waterfall, immediately turn right.
- Once you leave the tunnel area, you’ll see a coral-like tower to your left. This is where Grumpy Hank lives, but you don’t need to interact with him right now.
- Swim behind Grumpy Hank’s Tower, then dive down the cliff directly next to it.
- As you descend, look back, and you’ll spot a cave entrance along the side of the cliff.
- Enter the cave and follow it all the way to the end, where you’ll find a crab-like sculpture holding the Crab Scroll.
- Press E to grab the scroll, then head back to the Crab!

Keep in mind that the Crab Scroll Cave in Abyss is quite deep - you’ll need to reach at least 370 meters, so make sure you’re properly geared up. As such, the Zeppelin Tube is the minimum requirement, but for optimal Abyss Tube progression, I recommend skipping it and going directly for the Rukiry Tube.
How to Talk With the Crab in Abyss
Now that you have the Crab Scroll, all that’s left to do is head to the Crab and start talking to it. This is the easiest part, and you’re probably already aware of what you need to do, but just in case you’re unsure, here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Head back to the Forgotten Dome.
- Reach Henry's Harpoon Shop.
- Press E to interact with Henry.
- Pick dialogue option 1: [Give Crab Scroll].
- Press E to interact with the Crab.
- After a few click-clack-slicks, the Crab will start talking in English - you finally understand it!
And like any good NPC in Roblox, as soon as it starts talking, the very first thing it says is that it “has a job for you.” This kicks off the Crab questline, where you’ll need to unlock seven Fish Ruins in Abyss. The Crab Scroll is in a cave in the Ancient Sands biome, below Grumpy Hank’s Tower.
You'll need to have at least the Zeppelin Tube because of the depth at which the cave is located.

Once you find the Crab Scroll, simply bring it back to Henry, and you'll start understanding the crab.
