‘Absolute tragedy for fans’: Dolly Parton’s nephew reacts as tributes pour in following the country music legend’s passing

Dolly Parton, the country music legend whose career spanned six decades, has died at 80, her nephew Bryan Seaver announced Tuesday, Aug. 25. Seaver shared the news in a video posted through Parton’s social media accounts, representing the Parton and Owens families.

“My name is Bryan Seaver, son of Cassie Parton, and I’m representing the Parton and Owens family today announcing the passing of my aunt, Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean,” Seaver said in the video. He added that Parton had asked him years ago to make the announcement when the time came.
