A large section of the Chelsea fanbase are not best pleased with the Premier League's decision to postpone the clash versus Liverpool. The west Londoners were set to welcome Jurgen Klopp's side to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, September 18 as Graham Potter looked to make his domestic debut as newly-appointed Blues boss.
In an official statement, the Premier League announced that fixtures will resume this weekend after previous games were postponed to mark respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. But, only seven of the ten scheduled fixtures will be going ahead due to challenges faced amid The Queen’s funeral.
Two of the three matches which have been postponed and will be rescheduled are games which were set to take place on Sunday - a day prior to the funeral. These include Chelsea versus Liverpool and Manchester United versus Leeds United.
