About 51,000 Recliner Battery Packs Sold on Amazon Recalled for Fire Risk as Power Bank Maker Reverses Course

About 51,000 lithium-ion battery packs used to power reclining chairs are being recalled because they can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced in its recall notice on Sept. 24. The Blue Cactus Company 2500 mAh packs were sold on Amazon from May 2023 through July 2026 for about $105.

The CPSC says it is aware of four reports of the packs overheating, smoking, or igniting, and the notice does not describe any injuries. The agency says owners should stop using the recalled packs immediately and contact the company for a replacement battery pack.
