About 4,596 pounds of ready-to-eat Korean ginseng chicken stew are being recalled because the product entered the United States from South Korea without going through required federal import reinspection. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall by Sempio Food Services Inc., of Cerritos, California, on Sept. 25, WGCU reported.
The stew was distributed in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
