NEW DELHI: Abhimanyu Easwaran's frustration was evident as his impressive knock of 191 for Rest of India in the 2024 Irani Cup match against Mumbai ended just nine runs short of a well-deserved double century. After Mumbai set an imposing total of 537/10 in their first innings, Rest of India found themselves in early trouble with the dismissals of skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (9), Sai Sudharsan (32), Devdutt Padikkal (16), and Ishan Kishan (38).
Easwaran, however, held firm and, in partnership with Dhruv Jurel, steadied the innings amidst the top-order collapse. The pair showed remarkable resilience, forging a critical 165-run stand that kept Rest of India in the game and helped them recover from the early blows.
