MUMBAI: For Abha Khatua, the switch of technique brought about a change in fortunes, personally and technically.
From the glide she moved to the rotation (like in discus) and the 28-year-old Khatua, a hawaldar with Mumbai Customs, moved from a 17 metre shot putter to 18.06 in the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok recently. She bagged the silver behind Chinese athlete while equalling Manpreet Kaur's national record.
