Aberdeen vs Rangers selected for TV in final fixture of Ibrox side's huge triple header

Rangers' trip to Pittodrie has been selected by Sky Sports for live TV coverage next month and it will complete a huge week for Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his side.

The SPFL have confirmed that the match scheduled for Saturday, September 10 will now kick off at 12 noon on that day. And that will come just days after the Light Blues make their long-awaited return to the Champions League. And Rangers face a daunting trip to face rivals and champions Celtic, also live on Sky Sports, prior to kicking off their Group A campaign in European football's premier competition so it makes it a huge triple header in the space of a week.

The Light Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie last January in a game that severely dented their Scottish Premiership title hopes and Van Bronckhorst will be looking to improve on that result when they head to the north east.

The Reds have made a solid start to the season under Jim Goodwin who took over shortly after that Gers draw last season when he succeeded axed Stephen Glass. Sky Sports will be expected to release their full list of live September fixtures shortly.
