Darvel have pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Scottish Cup history after defeating Aberdeen 1-0 at Recreation Park.
Jordan Kirkpartick was the hero for the West of Scotland side as they dumped Jim Goodwin’s side out of the competition at the fourth round stage.
The Ayrshire side will now go on to face League One side Falkirk in the fifth round at home next month. High-flying Darvel were comfortable throughout the game after taking the lead in the 19th minute and could have added to their lead on a number of occassions.
Aberdeen had a couple of chances and were denied a goal when they had a goal cancelled out after the linesman raised his flag. Replays showed Leighton Clarkson was several yards onside, while some excellent saves from Chris Truesdale in the Darvel goal also kept the Ayrshire in the tie.
