Aberdeen star in six day search for family dog after pet goes missing in 17-car crash

An Aberdeen footballer's dog is still missing after a 17-car pile up on the A92 near the Bridge of Muchalls last week.

Dons defender Hayden Coulson, who is on loan from Middlesbrough, is still searching for his German Shepherd Zola after ran from a car involved in the collision around 12.40pm last Friday.

She has not yet been found. Specialist volunteers from the Lost Dog Trapping Team have been using drone and thermal imaging searches to try and find the beloved pet.

A post shared on behalf of the player's dad by podcast Ren Tinted Glasses asked people in the area to keep an eye out for her as the family are desperate to bring her back home.

Local Facebook page Fubar News has also been aiding the search, requesting that anyone who spots Zola contact them as soon as possible but not to approach her.

They said: "Sadly Zola is still missing. Her family were involved in the multiple RTA at Bridge of Muchalls on Friday afternoon and had escaped their car.

"She was sighted at the weekend & a 'possible' sighting yesterday at Portlethen.

"If anyone sees her please message in and we will give you her owners contact phone number. It's imperative that you DON'T put her location on any fb posts or in comments on this post as this compromises her safety.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 12.50pm on Friday, March 24, to a report of a series of crashes involving 17 vehicles on the A92 southbound near the junction with Walker Drive, Muchalls.

“Emergency services attended and four people, a woman aged 21, and three men aged 23, 40 and 58, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be checked over.

“Several other people were checked by the Scottish Ambulance Service at the scene.

“The road was closed for the vehicles to be recovered and re-opened around 7pm.”
