Aberdeen fans have shifted more than half of for their 20,000 allocation for the Viaplay League Cup semi-final against Rangers with two months to go until the Hampden showdown. The Pittodrie club have now put briefs on public sale for the clash on Sunday, January 15.
The Red Army are set to give Jim Goodwin’s men huge backing as Aberdeen look to win the trophy for the first time since they defeated Inverness Caley Thistle in a nerve-shredding penalty shoot out at Celtic Park eight years ago. Dons chiefs revealed that 11,000 tickets have been snapped up for the match against the Light Blues, currently on the hunt for a new manager, and that further parts of the East Stand have now been opened as the general sale starts.
Aberdeen have also been allocated the South Stand but the SPFL announced that initial allocations would be dependant on demand. However, the early indications are that the travelling Dons could sell out their maximum allocation.
The club announced that tickets are available by phone (01224 63 1903) or from the Pittodrie Ticket Office.
