Aberdeen 4 Kilmarnock 1 as Derek McInnes dishes out 'not good enough' verdict

Derek McInnes admits the manner of Kilmarnock's defeat to Aberdeen wasn't good enough.

The Dons dished out a Pittodrie hammering to the Ayrshire side, and Rugby Park boss McInnes was left frustrated on the side just one day after penning a new four-year deal at Killie.

A Bojan Miovski brace was complimented by goals from Vicente Besuijen and Anthony Stewart which cancelled out which turned out to be a consolation from Ash Taylor on his Pittodrie return.

The defeat leaves Killie second-bottom of the Scottish Premiership, six points off ninth-place.

McInnes told Killie TV: "We were lacking in personality, lacking in belief, I thought we were decent until we lost the first goal.

"I was disappointed with the reaction of losing the goal, losing another so quickly, it's a crime and not good enough.

"The third goal just before half time was a real blow, and the fourth was from a set play, I think that's four away games in a row we've conceded from one.

"It's not good enough, we have got to be better and we have to work better, we've got to show more physicality on the pitch."

Jordan Jones created the first real chance as he found Christian Doidge with a cross in the 10th minute, but the Welshman’s header flew off target.

The Dons took the lead thanks to Besuijen in the 22nd minute, two minutes before Miovski fired home from the penalty spot to send the Reds into a 2-0 lead.

In the 28th minute Taylor fired a header home from a corner to give the visitors hope.

But that was dashed just before half time when Miovski bagged his second after a defensive mix-up.

Aberdeen captain Stewart fired home from a corner just after the hour mark to pile misery on the visiting support and seal a comfortable victory for Jim Goodwin's side.
