Abbey Clancy has made her loyalties lie amid the romantic break-up of Denise van Outen and Eddie Boxshall – and she is clearly following the girl code.
The 36-year-old model has reportedly been left “furious” that her husband, 40-year-old Peter Crouch, has been offering ‘advice and support’ to accused love rat Eddie, 47.
Eddie began a relationship with 47-year-old Denise back in 2014 – but earlier this month, the former Big Breakfast host revealed the romance was over amid allegations Eddie had been arranging phone sex and secret dates with other women.
Eddie had reportedly turned to Peter for support after the pair became friends after meeting through the celebrity circuit – but Abbey is not best pleased about the lads hanging out.
A source told New! magazine: “Abbey’s loyalty is 100% with Denise. She knows what she’s going through. She is very fond of Denise, and while they’re not extremely close, she doesn’t agree with what Eddie is alleged to have done whatsoever.
“Eddie and Peter are very different characters. Peter is a very sweet and nice guy and Eddie is taking advantage of that.”
The fact that Eddie and Peter are hanging out together is said to be awakening painful memories for mum-of-four Abbey – as her husband allegedly slept with a teenage prostitute back in 2010 when she was pregnant with their first child.
The source claims: “Peter had his time where he supposedly went astray and Abbey doesn’t want to be reminded of that time. She doesn’t want him getting involved.”
Abbey has previously opened up about the agony she experienced when Peter was accused of cheating on her.
She told the Mirror back in 2014: “It was horrendous. For any woman who is pregnant or had a baby, it’s tough.”
However she brushed off the allegations as “one of those things” and went on to explain how close she is with her husband.
Abbey said: “He’s my best friend. He makes me laugh – he’s kind, generous and the most incredible dad. I’m so proud of him.”
Reports last week suggested Abbey and Peter’s marriage could be under pressure due to the footballer’s close friendship with Eddie.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “It was through their friendship that Eddie met Peter. Since Denise kicked him out, Eddie’s leant on Peter for advice and support.
“Peter doesn’t condone his actions. He’s tried to help but he’s made it clear that he doesn’t want to get involved in matters between Eddie and Denise.”
“Sadly, Peter helping Eddie hasn’t gone down well with Abbey. She’s furious on Denise’s behalf and won’t give Eddie the time of day.”
Meanwhile, Eddie himself has broken his silence in relation to the allegations about his alleged indiscretions.
Taking to social media last week, the Googlebox star shared the cryptic statement: "Don't believe everything you read."
