Abandoned terraced home in Greater Manchester on the market for £30,000 - but it needs a lot of work

A boarded-up home that has fallen into disrepair has come on the market in Greater Manchester, and it is the dream property for anyone looking for the ultimate doer-upper home. The end-terrace home is in Wigan, one of the more affordable areas of the region, where you can expect to buy terraced properties for an average of £118,350.

However due to its derelict state, this three-bed home is set to go under the hammer with a guide price of just £30,000 - much cheaper that the average price of homes in the area.

Although in need of some desperate TLC, if you look beyond its current condition the property has the potential to make a lovely family home, that is if you are up for the challenge.

Set to be auctioned off by Taylor James Auctions on April 13, the house has fairly spacious rooms and benefits from both front and rear gardens and a driveway.

On the ground floor of the home lies an entrance hall, one large sitting room with a fireplace, and a dining room leading into the kitchen. Patio doors from the living room lead out onto the back garden.

Up on the first floor are three bedrooms, one of a larger size, and a family bathroom.

Pictures of the house in its current state show all the windows and doors are boarded-up to deter trespassers, as the home is currently vacant. Photos from inside show the home looking uninhabitable with stained walls, broken floorboards and likely signs of mould and damp.

There are only a few belongings that the previous owners left behind such as curtains in the living room and some children's paintings stuck to the wall in one of the bedrooms.

Buying a run-down property at an auction not only means that you can often purchase a home for a price much cheaper than what similar houses are going for, but if it is in need of gutting and renovating, then this allows you to put your own stamp on it and increase the value.

If you don't want to live in the home yourself, it could potential make for a great investment if you buy to let.

Any interested buyers should pre-register to Taylor James Auctions' online auction via their website no later than 8am on April 13.
