A former Edinburgh warehouse could be ripped down to make way for swathes of student housing and private flats.
The site on Leith Walk has lay derelict for some time, with developers now putting plans to the council to see the area transformed into a new hub.
Hoping to construct a variety of different housing options, the current standing warehouse would be removed, with student flats, social housing and some private accommodation constructed.
Opening the site up to Leith Walk, the development would also include a commercial unit to be used for a shop or other community projects.
According to Urban Realm, the new buildings would be around four or five storeys tall, with a mix of different blocks and public walkways through them.
The plans also detail the student accommodation will include 236 bedrooms, with 18 social housing units and 27 private apartments to be sold on.
Located on the site between Leith Walk and Halmyre Street, the plans are currently going through the application process with the city of Edinburgh council.

A gym, dining hall and community space are also detailed in the plans, with designers Manson writing:
"Our design goal has been to create a series of characterful geometric forms, heights and shapes. One of the key drivers in this aspect was to create a dynamic skyline found in the central part of the site; this form projects above the Thorntree Street datum in order to definitively create a central focus to the site.
"Our aim has been to create well proportioned and varied built forms for the individual buildings in our proposal. Individually they each have their own character but they visually merge together as one in the overall masterplan design ethos."
A decision is yet to be made on the development.
