A former Euro Car Parts shop in Polwarth could be transformed under new plans.
The derelict store, which sits at 36-38 Yeaman Place, is set to become studio flats. Just months ago, plans were submitted to transform the spot into a trendy café - with another submission made prior to that - though both fell through.
A planning application statement read: “Renovations are deemed essential to make the property safe again, as it has been sitting empty for a while and has fallen into considerable disrepair to the point where it could cause a risk to the public.”

The shop, though appearing to have sat empty for years, was operating as recently as 2018. Five years on, the site is deemed to be in a dilapidated state.
The new plans would see floors ripped out, new staircases put in, walls raised and the shopfront replaced with new glass. Submitted by NGP Architecture, the plans are yet to be approved. Those behind the plans say the alteration and refurbishment will not impact the area surrounding the property.
The City of Edinburgh Council received an application and drawings from NGP Architecture LTD on behalf of Gavin Neilson for the Yeaman Place property. Neilson previously applied to turn the site into an Italian Pizzeria - and then a café - but eventually withdrew these requests.
