An abandoned Edinburgh newsagents in the north east of the city is set to be restored and turned into flats.
The retail property, at 169 Easter Road, is also listed for sale on Rightmove and the applicant, Shad Ahmed, wishes to make several alterations to both the interior and exterior of the building to form several residential apartments.
The former Ali's Convenience Store and newsagents, which sold confectionary and cold food, has been derelict for several years.

A description of the site on Rightmove reads: "The subjects comprise a ground floor and basement retail premises of traditional stone construction, contained within a larger four-storey premises, that benefits from a return frontage and is situated on the corner of Easter Road and Albert Street.
In a supporting statement, the applicant says the unit has been vacant since 2017 and has been the subject of vandalism.
They add: "The property has been empty since 2017 and was a newsagents and is in a sorry and vandalized state having been unoccupied for so long.
"Our ambition is to convert it into residential apartments which there are many such basement conversions along Easter road and the surrounding area. Escape windows and fire suppression systems will form part of the design."
Some of the desired changes to the building include the change of use to residential, the formation of a new lower-level basement flat with access from the existing stairwell, remove an existing floor and form a new raised floor level and form new windows throughout the property.
