Abandoned Edinburgh bank could be turned into new hot food takeaway and cafe

New plans have been submitted to Edinburgh council to turn an abandoned bank into a new Sighthill cafe.

The old Clydesdale branch on 12 Bankhead Avenue in an industrial estate has been taken on by a buyer who has applied to transform the derelict building into a brand new eatery.

The application is to "form a hot food takeaway and central kitchen including change of use from bank."

It was first submitted on March 1 and neighbours in the surrounding area have now been notified.

So far there are no objections.

The building will be a hot food takeaway style cafe if the application is approved which will be handy for workers and customers in the industrial estate.

Pictures show the suave new cafe which will be painted charcoal black and will have large green bold signage reading: "The Ranch."
