Wes Brown says Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be called upon by Erik ten Hag if Diogo Dalot gets injured, despite his lack of involvement for Manchester United this season.
The outcast has played just four minutes for his new boss and has not made a Premier League matchday squad since August. During that time, the right-back has picked up and returned from a back injury.
He was handed his first United outing since pre-season in Wednesday’s friendly with La Liga strugglers Cadiz, as Ten Hag aims to top up the fitness of those who did not travel to the World Cup in the form of a week-long training camp in Spain.

Over the summer, Wan-Bissaka played 92 minutes over three substitute appearances but is clearly not favoured by his manager. He played 26 times last season as he was ousted from his starting XI spot by Dalot under Ralf Rangnick.
When the Portugal defender was suspended for the 2-1 win over Fulham in United's final game before the World Cup break, Ten Hag decided to play Tyrell Malacia at right-back with Wan-Bissaka not even making the squad.
United are expected to search for reinforcement in January but former defender Brown says the Englishman should not give up on his Old Trafford career. He suggested he could be brought back into Ten Hag’s plans should Dalot be ruled out through injury.
Speaking on MUTV, he said: “It’s been a tough season for him [Wan-Bissaka]. Mentally, I hope he’s still OK because he is a player that we still need.
“If anything does happen to Dalot, who has had a great season and is playing well for Portugal as well, he’s the next choice right-back and he’d be needed. The injury he picked up didn’t help.
“We just hope he… gets himself back into the manager’s eyes now and show the manager he’s more than capable of playing in the first team. He’ll be disappointed he hasn't featured at all this season and I'm sure he’ll show what he can do.”
