Aaron Rodgers Tags David Bakhtiari on Instagram, Driving Trade Speculation

The Jets’ struggling offensive line has been widely discussed during the team’s training camp, and fans are desperate for any hint that New York will upgrade at the position. Sure enough, all it took was a post from Aaron Rodgers.

The star quarterback took to Instagram on Wednesday and appeared to post a friendly story on his profile featuring a picture with himself and Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who wears the No. 17, captioned “Always love my 17s.” He tagged Davante Adams, who also wore No. 17 while the two were teammates with the Packers. However, some fans noticed that Rodgers added a cheeky tag to the picture—pun intended.

Rodgers tagged former teammate and current Green Bay offensive tackle David Bakhtiari in the picture and strategically made his Instagram handle small enough so few people would notice the tag appeared on Rodgers’s backside in the photo. The two are good friends, and Bakhtiari is a five-time All-Pro selection, leading fans to speculate that Rodgers might be recruiting his old teammate. However, it doesn’t appear that actually is the case.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter appeared on The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday and was asked specifically about the photo and whether there’s any reality to a possible Bakhtiari trade. The NFL insider said he hasn’t heard anything about the Jets looking to acquire Bakhtiari nor has he heard anything about the Packers wanted to offload him.

All things considered, it appears it was just Rodgers having some fun with his old friend.
