Aaron Rodgers confirmed that he had surgery on his torn Achilles on Wednesday by posting an image of himself after the operation on his Instagram story.
The image included the Jets quarterback in a medical gown, hair net and mask on his chin as he grinned for the camera. The surgery was done by Dr. Neal S. ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Dr. ElAttrache also did surgery on Kobe Bryant’s Achilles.
“Surgery went great yesterday,” Rodgers wrote. “Thank you for all the love and prayers and support. And thanks to the [goat] Dr. ElAttrache and his staff for starting me on the road to recovery.”

This isn’t the first message Rodgers has posted since his injury on Monday. He wrote a lengthy and sentimental Instagram post on Wednesday, adding that he is “heartbroken” that his season ended short, but vowing to “rise yet again.”
Rodgers went down during the first drive of his Jets debut on Monday night vs. the Bills. He will miss the remainder of the 2023 NFL season as he begins his recovery.
