One of the last big moves the Jets needed to do this offseason has been taken care of.
Pro Football Talk’ Mike Florio reported that Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has agreed to a restructured contract. Rodgers confirmed that news to the media Wednesday but would not get into the details of the new deal. The deal has been agreed to but it has not yet been signed as of Wednesday afternoon.
The Jets initially pushed Rodgers’ $58.3 option bonus, which they picked up following their acquisition of Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers in April, to 2024, leaving him with a salary of $1.165 million for 2023 but a whopping compensation amount of $107.55 million for 2024. That obviously needed to be take care of and the Jets and Rodgers have done that just.
