Aaron Rodgers Cleared To Play Against Buffalo Bills

Minnesota Vikings' Harrison Phillips (97), right, celebrates his sack of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, bottom left, during the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, at

After being limited in practice earlier in the week due to a sprained ankle and hamstring issue, Aaron Rodgers has been cleared to start as quarterback for the New York Jets in their upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. The 40-year-old Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, is coming off a challenging game where he threw three interceptions in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday in London. Despite a twisted leg during the game, Rodgers is deemed fit to play.

Interim coach Jeff Ulbrich expressed confidence in Rodgers' readiness, praising his dedication to maintaining his physical condition. Ulbrich took over as head coach following the dismissal of Robert Saleh and made changes to the offensive coaching staff, with Todd Downing now in charge of play-calling.

The Jets will be without nickel cornerback Michael Carter II, who is sidelined with a back injury sustained during warmups last week. Linebacker C.J. Mosley, who has missed the last three games due to a toe injury, is listed as questionable but has shown improvement in practice this week.

Defensive tackle Leki Fotu is expected to make his return after spending the first five games on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Linebacker Jamien Sherwood injured his hand in practice but is expected to play. Tight end Tyler Conklin is questionable with a hip ailment, while right tackle Morgan Moses is likely to return after missing two games with a knee injury.

The Jets are looking to bounce back from recent setbacks and will rely on Rodgers' leadership to guide them against the Bills.
