Aaron Ramsey 'undergoes medical' at former club amid Saudi interest

Aaron Ramsey has rejected a mega-money offer from Saudi Arabia to re-join a former club.

Sky Sports say the 32-year-old is set to undergo a medical at Cardiff City.

The midfielder is due to return to his boyhood club, where his career began.

Ramsey is on the lookout for a new club after rejecting terms at Nice, despite a 12-month contract extension being triggered at the Ligue 1 club recently.

The Wales captain has made no secret of his desire to return home to Cardiff due to family reasons.

And it seems the former Arsenal star will get his wish, with a move edging closer having knocked back the chance to become the latest big name to move out to the Middle East.

Speaking on his future last month, Ramsey said: "This season has been a success for me personally, I played a lot of games and some good football.

"The most challenging thing is being away from my family. That's the situation I find myself in. I've been away from my family and seeing the kids growing up, missing out, it's always difficult. Difficult for anyone to go through, I imagine.

"Whatever we do going forward, we will be reunited and back together."

Ramsey became Cardiff's youngest player in April 2007 at the age of 16 years and 124 days and helped them reach the 2008 FA Cup final.

He signed for Arsenal in a £4.8m deal later that summer and made over 360 appearances for the Gunners.

He then joined Juventus before being farmed out on loan to Rangers for the first part of 2022.

The Rangers Review team is taking the hugely-popular morning briefing LIVE at New Edmiston House on July 28.
