Rangers have completed one of the most sensational signings in recent Scottish football memory as Aaron Ramsey has officially joined until the end of the season.
When reports first emerged that the Juventus man was wanted by the Premiership champions the automatic reaction of many was to dismiss them out of hand.
Instead Rangers fans watched on in delight and astonishment as the midfielder passed a medical, turned up to Ibrox and, finally, stood in the famous dressing room in a blue shirt.
Supporters will be on a high well into the week after a sensational move, but what do we know about the long-term prospects for Ramsey at Ibrox?
Initial reports suggested that the former Arsenal man would join with an option to buy, potentially one which would become an obligation if certain conditions are met.
However, the statement released by Juve indicates that a straight loan deal has been agreed between the two clubs.
Because the Turin club are listed on the Italian stock exchange, they must announce the details of transfers which could affect their share price.
We saw three examples of that on deadline day.
When Rodrigo Bentancur joined Tottenham, Juve released a statement making clear he'd moved £15.9m, plus a potential £5m in bonuses, and that the deal had earned them a £3.3m profit.
They signed Denis Zakaria to replace him and made public the £3.8m fee they'd paid as well as the fact it will be paid over three years.
And, most pertinently in this case, Juventus released the financial details of Dejan Kulusevski's move to Tottenham.
The Swedish international has move on loan with an option to buy which will become mandatory if certain conditions are met, one of which is believed to be Antonio Conte's side making the Champions League.
They told shareholders the deal was worth £8.3m for a two year loan with an eventual buyout of £29m.
But when Ramsey was signed the Juve statement made no mention of figures they'd be legally obliged to disclose.
It read: "Aaron Ramsey has left Juventus. The midfielder will play the remainder of the season on loan at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
"The Welsh midfielder made 70 appearances for the Bianconeri since arriving from Arsenal in 2019. He scored six goals, including one in the Champions League, in the away match at Lokomotiv Moscow, and five in Serie A against Verona, SPAL and Inter, Sassuolo and Sampdoria. Arguably the most precious was his strike against Inter, in the Allianz Stadium that was empty for the first time. His performance was capped off with the assist for Paulo Dybala's splendid goal in the 2-0 victory.
"But above all, he contributed to the Bianconeri’s recent trophy haul, winning a league title, the ninth consecutive Serie A crown for Juventus, an Italian Super Cup and an Italian Cup.
"Thanks for everything and good luck Aaron!"
Even with the stock market closed Juventus made public the details of their move for Dusan Vlahovic, a strong indication that Rangers have taken Ramsey on a straight loan.
For many that will be the best of both worlds though, with the Premiership champions free to negotiate a deal in the summer rather than being locked into a fee.
