Former Rangers loanee Aaron Ramsey has delivered a heartfelt congratulations to Wales pal Gareth Bale after his retirement.
The five-time Champions League winner and Wales hero called time on a storied career on Monday, bringing down the curtain on over two decades in football. Ramsey and Bale both made over 100 appearances for the country, with the two stars being part of Rob Page's history-making side that led Wales to a first World Cup in over half a century.
Ramsey's time in Glasgow with Rangers was fraught with injury and fitness issues, with the former Arsenal midfielder missing the crucial penalty that handed Eintracht Frankfurt the Europa League final in May after making just a handful of starts under former boss Gio Van Bronckhorst.

The 32-year-old experienced somewhat of a career upturn with new club Nice after he was terminated from his contract with Juventus before playing a role in Qatar last month. And Ramsey has hailed a 'special' player in retired Bale, and offered him a suggestion for his downtime.
He posted: "Massive congratulations Gaz. What an amazing career you’ve had. It’s been unbelievable playing alongside you over the years and so many special moments together in that welsh shirt!
"Time to be with your family and get that handicap down to scratch! All the best mate."
